On March 11, a Hainan Tesla owner claimed that an accident occurred due to a brake failure while parking, causing the vehicle to directly hit the roadside guard. Coincidentally, the same accident happened when Tesla after-sales personnel drove another Tesla at the scene of the accident to do the same test.

After the incident, Tesla officially responded that background data showed that the vehicle braking and other systems were normal, and the accident was caused by the slippery ground and the light braking of the owner. At that time, the response caused dissatisfaction with the car owner. The car owner said that Tesla was unwilling to provide so-called "back-end data", and obvious misinformation appeared in the accident identification report, questioning the professionalism of its detection.

Now this event has a follow-up, but there has been a reversal plot. On March 16, the Hainan car owner sent a Weibo to change his previous questioning of Tesla’s attitude and expressed agreement with Tesla’s findings: “In many tests after the accident, Tesla’s vehicles were operating normally. Stopping within a safe braking distance, and at the same time recognized Tesla’s test results, there is no quality problem. The parties also expressed their apologies for the occupation of public opinion resources and recognized Tesla’s after-sales service."
After that, the car owner deleted this Weibo and changed it to "reconciling with Tesla", which caused discussion among netizens.

This incident also caught the netizens who were eating melons and the media following them off guard. Many netizens complained, "Tesla gave too much" and "I was used as a gun."
