What Is Autonomous Emergency Braking(AEB) System?

Nov 09, 2020 Leave a message

AEB is short for Autonomous Emergency Braking, which refers to the normal driving of the vehicle under the condition of a non-adaptive cruise. If the vehicle encounters sudden danger or the distance from the vehicle ahead and pedestrians are less than a safe distance, it will actively brake (but has a vehicle with this function may not necessarily be able to stop the vehicle completely) to avoid or reduce the occurrence of collisions such as rear-end collisions, thereby improving driving safety.

Autonomous Emergency Braking

Generally speaking, AEB is composed of two systems, including vehicle collision imminent braking system (CIB) and dynamic brake support system (DBS). The CIB system will be an emergency in the event of a rear-end collision and the driver does not take any action. Brake the vehicle and DBS will help avoid a collision when the driver does not apply enough braking action.

AEB

This system has different names from different manufacturers. For example, Toyota's Pre-Collision System(PCS for short), Honda's CMBS (Collision Mitigation Brake System), and Mercedes-Benz's pre-safe system, and so on, but the working principle of all these systems is identical.
