Recently, Mexican media published the pickup truck sales in the local market in August. Mexican pickup truck sales hit a high note in August. Mexico is one of the largest consumers of pickup trucks in the world. Among them, Nissan is still the brand with the largest market share, and its NP300 pickup truck also firmly occupies the top spot in the single model sales list. However, it should be noted that two Chinese-made pickups are in the top ten pickup sales, namely the RAM1200 and the JAC pickup.

The Mexican pickup truck market can be described as "one super and many strong". Nissan NP300 has always maintained first place in sales, but the other top five models are all around 1,500 units, which is very suitable for the fast-rising Chinese-made pickup trucks to develop the local market. This is indeed the case. JAC's pickup truck sold 822 units, ranking ninth, and its flagship model, JAC T9, officially entered the Mexican market some time ago, helping to increase its market share. In addition, the RAM1200 sold 894 units and ranked eighth. This car can be considered a product of the same platform as the Changan F70 and is exported overseas as a global model.

Nissan NP300
The Nissan NP300 is the undisputed leader in the Mexican pick-up market and has maintained its top sales position for a long time. In August it was still in first place with 4,896 units sold. The Nissan NP300 can be seen as the Mexican version of the Navara pickup, with a local starting price of 460,900 pesos (about 167,200 RMB). In terms of performance, it is equipped with a 2.5T diesel/petrol engine with a maximum output of 161 and 166 horsepower respectively. It has an excellent power reserve and has been well received by the local market.

Toyota Hilux
The Toyota Hilux, known as the "Phoenix", is a bestseller in many countries. It is also doing well in the Mexican pick-up market, in second place with 1,538 units sold in August. The Toyota Hilux in the Mexican market is mainly divided into four versions, equipped with 2.7T petrol and 2.8T diesel engines, with maximum outputs of 166 and 174 hp, and a starting price of 495,400 pesos (about 179,700 yuan).

Volkswagen Saveiro
Latin America generally prefers small pick-ups with a load-bearing body. The Volkswagen Saveiro pickup sold 1,514 units in the Mexican market in a single month, ranking third. The car can be seen as a pickup model modified from Volkswagen's best-selling Santana saloon, with improved cargo capacity. The local starting price of the car is 322,670 pesos (about 117,000 RMB), equipped with a 1.6-litre naturally aspirated engine with a maximum output of 109 bhp.

The Chevrolet S10
The Chevrolet S10 is also one of the best-selling pickups in Latin America. With 1,439 units sold in August in the Mexican market, it ranks fourth, reflecting a good user base. In fifth place is the RAM 700, which like the Volkswagen Saveiro is also a pick-up with a box body. It sold 1,414 units in August and performed well.

Conclusion:
The Mexican pickup market is still a blue ocean market for Chinese brands. Local enthusiasm for pickup consumption is high and there is only one Nissan NP300 with obvious sales advantages, which is very suitable for new brands to explore the market. Of course, the JAC pickup and the RAM1200, which are currently on sale, have also shown strong sales momentum. I believe that in the future, Chinese-made pickup trucks will be able to gain more recognition and market share in the local market.
