How to maintain the car brake system

Jul 07, 2020 Leave a message

There are more and more private cars in society, but everyone's understanding of the car is limited. Some car owners do not know to check and maintain the brake system until the brake system alarms. This driving habit is wrong. The braking system is essential for the safety of the car. If you do not pay attention to the maintenance of the brake system, the brake failure due to sudden failures will likely cause a major disaster.

Therefore, the brake system of the car still needs to be maintained and it needs to be maintained in depth after a long time. So what do we usually pay attention to?

1: Pay attention to check the brake fluid.

Sometimes the water content of the brake fluid exceeds the standard, which will lead to a longer braking distance and a softer brake. Check once every 10,000 or 20,000 kilometers. The friction surfaces of brake pads and brake discs are often adhered to by oil dirt and dust. Due to friction, the brake discs will also groove, resulting in a reduction in friction coefficient, a longer braking distance, and a lower braking effect.

2: Brake cylinders.

Some vehicles are in the wheel hub. If they are not cleaned for a long period, oil leakage will occur. The moving parts are liable to produce sludge, which will cause the brake cylinders to be stuck in the moving parts and the guide pins to be insufficiently lubricated or stuck. At this time, the vehicle will have a poor braking effect, and the brakes will be uneven.

3: Pay Attention To The rust in the rim.

The rust in the rim is serious, the fastening screws cannot be removed, and the tire replacement is difficult. The joints in the four wheels are rusted and bitten. These aspects require regular inspection, maintenance, and lubrication to achieve the best braking effect. There is mud in the brake pads and abnormal sounds when you step on the brakes. The brake discs will wear out after a long time. These phenomena must be cleared in time. Replace the brake pads in time. Do not wait for the brake pad alarm to sound before replacing it. Instead, always check the brake pads and replace them in time to ensure driving safety.

Changing the brake fluid once a year and a half to two years is the most ideal state. Brake system maintenance can prevent high temperature, rust, corrosion, lubrication, etc. If the guide pins of the brake calipers are not well lubricated and stuck, abnormal braking will occur, causing the brakes to stop. If the iron plates at both ends of the brake pads are oxidized or rusted, it will affect the sliding of the brake pads back and forth, which will result in the inability to brake the car in time. If the corrosion on one side is more severe, there will be uneven wear, which will cause the brake to deviate. When braking, the brake pads rub against the brake disc rotating at high speed, and the temperature will be very high. If the heat can not be dissipated in time, it is likely to reduce the service life of the brake system accessories. Therefore, it is necessary to clean and maintain the brake system in time.

For the safety of ours and others, it is reliable to do brake maintenance.
