Hydro-Boost Power Brake BoosterAssembly working principle

When hydro-boost was first introduced into medium-sized trucks in the 1970s, the system was designed to address issues related to today's safety and fuel efficiency requirements.

These methods are effective because they produce more boosters than vacuum boosters. Secondly, these devices are compact enough to be installed in spaces where vacuum boosters cannot be installed, such as trucks. Finally, they helped diesel cars not produce enough engine vacuum.

Hydro-boost mopeds are not difficult to operate and usually do not require special tools.

Most gasoline powered vehicles use vacuum assisted brake booster to generate more force (increase pressure) in the power braking system. If you have ever driven a vehicle without power brakes, you will know how much the power assisted braking system has been improved. Vacuum brake booster is applicable to most vehicles, but for heavy trucks and vehicles that cannot create enough vacuum for brake booster,  hydro-boost booster brake is usually the choice of vehicle manufacturers.

Hydro-Boost power brakes work using hydraulic fluid pressure (fed from the power steering pump) to "boost" the force on the master cylinder brake fluid, thereby applying more force to the brake caliper (and then on the rotor with brake pads).

Both Hydro-boost power and vacuum assist are power braking systems, which can multiply the force you apply to the brake with the brake pedal, but hydro-boost power can produce a greater force than the vacuum assist system, and there is no need to use the vacuum of the engine.

How to judge whether it works normally?

1. Listen

Correct operation of the  hydro-boost pressure boosting device will produce some noise that cannot be heard in the vacuum pressure boosting system. In most cases, these noises occur when the brake pedal is operated in a manner unrelated to daily driving habits. The general categories of normal working noise are hiss and dull / click.

2. Basic function test

To check whether the  hydro-boost pressurization system works normally, please perform this test:

1. With the engine off, press the brake pedal until it hardens.

2. Start the engine.

3. Correct operation should cause the brake pedal to sink, and then push your foot upward.
