Factors Affecting the Life of the Brake Master Cylinder

Jul 22, 2022 Leave a message

In order to keep the brake pump in good condition, we must prevent the brake system from corroding, prevent the brake pad from being seized by the high temperature surface, eliminate the brake pad scream, and maintain good lubrication durability. Usually, the product contains ceramic components and needs to be resistant to high temperature above 1400 degrees Celsius. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly check the thickness of the brake pads or brake shoes to ensure the driving of the car.

1 How many kilometers to replace the brake master cylinder

Brake pump replacement cycle:

1) Under normal driving conditions, the service life of the front brake pads is 30,000-50,000 km, and the service life of the rear brake pads is 120,000-150,000 km. Once the brake wear reaches the limit, it should be replaced in time;

2) In addition, to lubricate the movable shaft and leather cup of the brake cylinder, keep the cylinder bushing soft, and prolong the service life of the cylinder, it is necessary to use the fully synthetic brake cylinder lubricating oil;

3. It is also necessary to quickly clean the oil stains, dirt and friction dust of the brake disc, brake drum and any parts to keep the brake disc dissipating well; eliminate the harsh noise of the brake and promote uniform braking;

4. It should be noted that the brake oil has the characteristics of water absorption. If it is not replaced for a long time, it will corrode the braking system and bring hidden dangers to driving. Under normal circumstances, it is recommended that car owners change the brake fluid every 20,000 kilometers. Mainly to ensure the cleanliness of the brake fluid;

5. Prevent corrosion, prevent screws and surfaces from being bitten by heat, and facilitate disassembly. Products containing aluminum components should be resistant to high temperature above 1100C to ensure the contact area with the brake pads and improve the braking force.

2. Common faults of brake master cylinder

1. The brake deviates. When braking, the direction deviates. Especially for cars without ABS brake anti-lock device, the direction cannot be controlled. The reason is that the brake wears unevenly, a piston oil seal of the master cylinder expands, and a sub-cylinder leaks oil. As a result, replace the oil seal of the master cylinder.

2. The brake does not return. When the brake pedal is stepped on, it feels high and hard or there is no free travel. The car is difficult to start or drives hard. Fault phenomenon: step on the brake pedal, the pedal does not rise, and there is no resistance. It is necessary to judge whether the brake fluid is missing; whether there is oil leakage at the brake cylinder, pipeline and joints, and whether the master cylinder and cylinder parts are damaged.

3. The brake suddenly fails. When the car is running, one foot or several consecutive brakes are pressed to the bottom, and the brake suddenly fails. Reasons: The brake master cylinder or wheel cylinder has serious oil leakage; the brake master cylinder or wheel cylinder piston seal is damaged, or there is too much air in the brake oil circuit. Replace the piston seals of the master and sub-pumps.
